Thaipusam

Thaipusam, a very sacred event for Hindus. Is a time of repayment for fulfilled wishes.
while some offers milk, flowers, vegetables, fruits etc.
Others will choose to offer repayment to their god through series of endurance which surpasses body, soul and mind...
Devotees carrying nicely decorated "Kavadi". See the amount of giant needles used.. Ouch! The miracle thing is that there is not a single drop of blood seen here. It's incredible!

Family member providing aid and moral support to devotee. It is a challenge to carry Kavadi which can be very taxing to body.
It is not easy to carry Kavadi which can be very heavy. This can easily weigh more than 20kg ...

If you look closely, he is actually walking on nail bedded shoes. His thighs, body hung with numerous ornaments.

Families cheering on deevotees with music and singing. A Chinese couple watches from behind
This guy looks exhausted.
His left cheek had already started to bleed.

He takes a seat to gain some strength before moving on. I am starting to wonder how are they goin to remove this needle later on? ....
